Mission

We Exist to Join God in Spreading His Fame and Restoring the Streets.

God has created us to know Him and be known by Him. After the fall of man, however, we have lost our sense of who He is and who we are in light of being made in His image and likeness. In His infinite wisdom and mercy God decided that we would not be separated from Him forever but that instead He would take the initiative and draw us back to Himself through the means of His people, promises, and provision. The church exists to partner with God in that mission. We do so by the enablement and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

And the Lord will Guide you continually and satisfy your desires in scorched places and make your bones strong;

and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;

    and you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;

you shall be called repairer of the breach,

    the restorer of streets to dwell in. Isaiah 58:11-12

Vision

Diverse communities of believers in South Florida formed by the cross, empowered by the resurrection, and pounding the concrete for the glory of God and the good of neighbor.

We believe that when Jesus rights all the wrongs for the last time, we will live in the New Jerusalem together where diversity will be celebrated and the goodness of the Lord will rule our city.

As ambassadors of the Kingdom of God we’ll strive to see these end time realities present in our neighborhoods as we declare and demonstrate the power of the gospel on the concrete.

Our hope is that as we form communities that embrace this vision here in transient yet influential South Florida we will see a radically more authentic expression of faith in the lives of South Florida neighbors that will in turn infect the world!

And they sang a new song, saying,

Worthy are you to take the scroll

    and to open its seals,

for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God

    from every tribe and language and people and nation,

and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,

    and they shall reign on the earth. Rev. 5:9-10

Values

Gospel-centered

Our main message is the good news of Jesus’ life, death, burial, & resurrection.

Conversions

We want to see people who don’t know and love Jesus come to know and love Him

Missional

We recognize and embrace that God has a church for His mission rather than a mission for His church.

Social Justice

When Jesus was asked, “What is the greatest commandment?” He replied, “love God with everything you’ve got and your neighbor as yourselves.” Therefore, we emphasize social justice as an integral part of our faith and practice.

Urban

Hollywood, FL. is an urban area, meaning that it’s a tight, culturally diverse, and heavily populated area. Urban has also referred to the culture of the inner-city, namely, Hip hop. Our leadership reflects both.

Reproducing

We’re praying and preparing to plant primarily urban-minority led churches throughout the South Florida region.

We Believe

We embrace the systems of teaching taught in the Apostles’ Creed and we value the classic reformed confession’s of Faith.

God has graciously disclosed his existence and power in the created order, and has supremely revealed himself to fallen human beings in the person of his Son, the incarnate Word. Moreover, this God is a speaking God who by his Spirit has graciously disclosed himself in human words: we believe that God has inspired the words preserved in the Scriptures, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, which are both record and means of his saving work in the world. These writings alone constitute the verbally inspired Word of God, which is utterly authoritative and without error in the original writings, complete in its revelation of his will for salvation, sufficient for all that God requires us to believe and do, and final in its authority over every domain of knowledge to which it speaks. We confess that both our finitude and our sinfulness preclude the possibility of knowing God’s truth exhaustively, but we affirm that, enlightened by the Spirit of God, we can know God’s revealed truth truly. The Bible is to be believed, as God’s instruction, in all that it teaches; obeyed, as God’s command, in all that it requires; and trusted, as God’s pledge, in all that it promises. As God’s people hear, believe, and do the Word, they are equipped as disciples of Christ and witnesses to the gospel.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who know, love, and glorify one another. This one true and living God is infinitely perfect both in his love and in his holiness. He is the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy to receive all glory and adoration. Immortal and eternal, he perfectly and exhaustively knows the end from the beginning, sustains and sovereignly rules over all things, and providentially brings about his eternal good purposes to redeem a people for himself and restore his fallen creation, to the praise of his glorious grace.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, possesses all the divine excellencies, and in these He is coequal, consubstantial, and coeternal with the Father. God the Father created according to His own will, through His Son, Jesus Christ, by whom all things continue in existence and in operation. Our Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and in the incarnation (God becoming man) He surrendered only the prerogatives of deity but nothing of the divine essence, either in degree or kind. In the incarnation, the eternally existing second Person of the Trinity accepted all the essential characteristics of humanity and so became the God Man.

Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross and that His death was voluntary, vicarious, substitutionary, propitiatory, and redemptive. On the basis of the efficacy of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ, the believing sinner is freed from the punishment, the penalty, the power, and one day the very presence of sin; and that he is declared righteous, given eternal life, and adopted into the family of God. In the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, God confirmed the deity of His Son and gave proof that God has accepted the atoning work of Christ on the cross. Jesus’ bodily resurrection is also the guarantee of a future resurrection life for all believers.

We believe that he Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son, whose primary ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; he also convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ and imparts spiritual life through regeneration (the new birth).

The Spirit permanently indwells, graciously sanctifies, lovingly leads, and empowers all who are brought to faith in Christ so that they might live in obedience to the inerrant Scriptures.

The model for our reliance upon the Spirit and our experience of his indwelling and empowering presence is the Lord Jesus Christ himself who was filled with the Spirit and entirely dependent upon his power for the performance of miracles, the preaching of the kingdom of God, and all other dimensions of his earthly ministry.

The Holy Spirit who indwelt and empowered Christ in like manner indwells and empowers us through spiritual gifts he has bestowed for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. Although there are different understandings in our network of the nature and function of these gifts, we all recognize that they are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry and are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines.

We believe that man was directly and immediately created by God in His image and likeness. Man was created free of sin with a rational nature, intelligence, volition, self determination, and moral responsibility to God.

God’s intention in the creation of man was that man should glorify God, enjoy God’s fellowship, live his life in the will of God, and by this accomplish God’s purpose for man in the world.

However, in Adam’s sin of disobedience to the revealed will and Word of God, man lost his innocence, incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death, became subject to the wrath of God, and became inherently corrupt and utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God apart from divine grace. With no recuperative powers to enable him to recover himself, man is hopelessly lost. Man’s salvation is thereby wholly of God’s grace through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Because all men were in Adam, a nature corrupted by Adam’s sin has been transmitted to all men of all ages, Jesus Christ being the only exception. All men are thus sinners by nature, by choice, and by divine declaration.

We believe that from all eternity God determined in grace to save a great multitude of guilty sinners from every tribe and language and people and nation, and to this end foreknew them and chose them. We believe that God justifies and sanctifies those who by grace have faith in Jesus, and that he will one day glorify them—all to the praise of his glorious grace. In love God commands and implores all people to repent and believe, having set his saving love on those he has chosen and having ordained Christ to be their Redeemer.

We believe in the personal, glorious, and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ with his holy angels, when he will exercise his role as final Judge, and his kingdom will be consummated. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust—the unjust to judgment and eternal conscious punishment in hell, as our Lord himself taught, and the just to eternal blessedness in the presence of him who sits on the throne and of the Lamb, in the new heaven and the new earth, the home of righteousness. On that day the church will be presented faultless before God by the obedience, suffering and triumph of Christ, all sin purged and its wretched effects forever banished. God will be all in all and his people will be enthralled by the immediacy of his ineffable holiness, and everything will be to the praise of his glorious grace.
